The open access platform TUDObooks offers researchers of TU Dortmund University the opportunity to publish academic e-books (monographs or editions) free of charge and open access. For this purpose, an instance of the open source software Open Monograph Press (OMP), hosted by the Hochschulbibliothekszentrum NRW, is used. The university library provides support in creating the e-books, and ensures worldwide visibility and permanent availability of the published content. Each publication, and in the case of editions, each contribution, is assigned its own Digital Object Identifier (DOI) as a persistent identifier.

In addition, the University Library automatically handles the mandatory delivery of publications to the German National Library.
